What is hardkey?

Hardkey is a new revolutionary tool that prevents the unauthorized access and misuse of important information. It is an IBM recommended hardware device that ensures that your sensitive data is kept secure by encrypting it efficiently and easily. Hardkey's unique approach to encryption & decryption has made it a significantly dominant security technology.

Hardkey uses a combination of hardware and software to encrypt data automatically and effortlessly without user intervention. This additional security measure ensures that sensitive data is permanently encrypted when it is not being accessed by the user.

How does it work?

Upon completion of the installation process of HardKey’s patented software, the user has the freedom to specify which choice of individual files, file folders or drives are to be automatically encrypted. Inserting the HardKey into the USB port of your PC initiates the encrypting and decrypting process of these selected files.

Why do I need it?

If you have broadband, you are susceptible to hackers stealing your information over the internet anytime your computer is on. Even if you have software or secure sockets to protect your systems, your data may not be encrypted. If your sensitive files and folders are not secured, you may be at risk. If you own a laptop, you are responsible for securing the information, particularly if that information belongs to a third party or organization.

If your data is not secure it may be subject to:

Stolen information
Not meeting legislative requirements such as the Privacy Act.
Not meeting insurance requirements thus making you subject to premium increases

Multiple Users

Multiple Hardkeys can be used on the same computer. Hardkey can also be used to "lock out" access to the Internet, Windows, directories, disk drives or other peripherals.

Security

All encryption/decryption information and passwording is safely held on the Hardkey/EG Pro, so even if your PC is stolen your data remains secure. HardKey/EG Pro is ideal for industries where information is an asset, e.g. government and military, research, customer databases; or for portable users where transportation increases the risk of theft.
